Have you ever thought what happened around our Kota town when there was no Chambal Garden, no swanky malls and ever increasing tiffin centres and buildings of coaching institutes , even when there were no tarmac roads, what was the city like beyond forgotten airport or was there any city ?
We often have heard elders saying ohh that will only be available in “Purana Bazaar” , the Patanpol, how were those Bazaaars pre independence ?
To experience all of these, we must go back in time. And that’s what Kota on Foot is all about.
Kota City Blog proudly collaborates with Kota Heritage Society for this interesting concept ” Kota on Foot: A Walk Back in Time” where we gather, we see places we bet you have never seen, gallis which look like mad rush in day time but exude whiff of spices, wet trees in morning, and most importantly the buildings, the people, the names of market and why they were called so . Ever looked up while passing thru these Gallis, this time you can.

There is so much packed in this Sunday walk as we don our walking shoes for instance Victoria Singh, our favorite lady who dons various hats an art connoisseur, a curator, a gardener as she loves her backyards who has indepth knowledge of how city evolved talking excitedly about building, folklore, stories, as we pass through a curated trail. Its amazing to see how Vicky as we call her lovingly walks with a pace and has so much in her kitty to share. Special mention also goes to the Kota Art Gallery curated by her which is doing laudable work.
And then there is a Crazyfeet girl, who was born and brought up in this Chambal town and spreading a new definition of travel ,culture and art across India. Kavya brings so much energy as she shares her experiences, how to make it a better city, simple tips we can can follow to make the most of the city, some of her photography techniques and so much more. Also, she is the right person to answer all your questions related to HOW TO GET STARTED WITH TRAVELING while not messing up with your normal routines on shoestring budgets.
Finally, how could any walk and talk go without food, we have handpicked stops where we shall relish local “naashta” as we break into conversations, discussions and laughter.
Lets get up and walk the Sunday 25th September we bet you gonna ask for more.
