Kota creates Guinness World Record on International Yoga Day

The city of education, ‘Kota’ has embraced Yoga with open arms. At the 4th International Day of Yoga, Kota hosted the biggest event in the history of Yoga. 21st June 2018 will be marked as a significant date in the history of Kota City. International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015.

The city was under the ‘aura of Yoga’ for months. Yoga Sessions were taking place all over the city under the common yoga protocol. Where people learned the basics of Yoga and Meditation.

The city worked vigorously towards achieving this milestone. The hard work of every individual who was associated to the event paid off, as “Kota” broke all the records and became the city where approximately 2 lakh people performed yoga at the same time, at the same place. The record was created at 1.05 lakh, the calculation and auditing of the participants are still under process, the final figures will be released soon. The previous record was that of 55, 524 people performing yoga in Mysore in 2017.

The yoga lesson started at 5 am and 15 yoga exercises of protocol for world record were performed between 7:00 am to 7:30 am.

Yog Rishi Swami Ramdev presided over the audience, where he guided and motivated them. Yoga roots out all bad habits and tendencies from the body and soul, Baba Ramdev said on this occasion while stressing on the need to embrace in life three yog mantras – determination, hard work and good nature.

It all started with the idea of motivating the society to follow a healthier lifestyle through the practice of Yoga. And ended at a very powerful note, by creating a Guinness World Record of the “Largest Yoga Lesson”.  More than 100 records in Yoga were also made under the guidance of Patanjali Yog Peeth and they are recorded in Golden Book of World Records.

A team from Guinness World Record Team came to examine the event and presented the Record to Baba Ramdev and BalKrishna and CM of Rajasthan – Vasundhara Raje in the presence of other dignitaries. The event was a humongous successful due to the collective efforts of Patanjali, Rajasthan government, the Coaching Institutes and people of Kota. We hope Kota breaks many other records in the upcoming Years.

This event transformed the complete picture of Kota, it has added an eighth wonder to our city. This event has not only encouraged the people of Kota but the entire Country. To follow a healthier lifestyle and to achieve stability through the practice of Yoga.

Yoga is embracing, inquisitive and a non-dogmatic path that guides us and balances our lives. The History of Yoga is divine, and the power that rests within the person who practises it is tremendous.
