A brief conversation with Bhuvan Malik. Knowing from him more about the video song and his journey as a musician.

1. Straight to the question whose answer most people want to know. What is different in your version of Julie Julie by Anu Malik.

The original song is more of Retro Kind and one that I sang is more of Rock with lots of Metal licks.

Moreover I wrote few lines in English as well as in Hindi, composed them and added them in the song.

2. How much time it took to complete this video song ?

It took around 3 months in the whole process of making this song, from Ideation to Releasing it.

3. Video is made by ArtSuis Studio. How was working with them ?

Working with ArtSuis Studio is always exuberant. We teamed up for “Mahiya” too which was my first video song.

Moreover the Director, Harneet Singh and Cinematographer, Musharraf Ahmed are good friends of mine. I know them from long back and working with them is super fun !

4. Any interesting moments / memories during the making of this video song ?

At many times it happened, in the middle of the shoot I used to say “cut”. Harneet, being the director, used to get shocked when he sees everyone just stopped.

“bhai ruk kyun gye sab meine toh cut bola hi nhi” he used to say

Coming to senses I raise my hand

He gets little annoyed and says “Direction, acting, sab tu hi krle”

Everyone Laughs 😀

5. Little bit about you. How was your journey till now as a musician and performer ?

 Musicians in Kota

I love taking challenges and learning something or the other is what I constantly look for. Fun is an integral part of me and my work process. Without it, its just impossible for me to get likely results.

I started performing on stage since last 2-3 years. I have been receiving a very positive response from people around. It works as motivation for me to push myself for better results.

I learned Guitar from Clive Sir. He is an inspiration and helped me a lot in this journey

6. In Kota, people generally go for Engineering or Medical. What challenges did you face when choosing Music as a career  ?

Yes in kota people generally go for medical and engineering. I would like to mention that I have got a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

Initially it was hard to convince my family but as they saw me working passionately towards MUSIC, they began to support me in many ways.

Two people need mentioning here – Ronak Maheshwari and Gobindpreet singh. They are not just friends. They are more like “brothers” to me. We used to sit and jam and they helped me learn so many new things.

7. What has been the response of people who watched the video ?

Response I am getting from people is quite positive. They are appreciating our video songs.

Some people are pointing out mistakes in video and audio but I am okay with it

I will try to improve those areas in future.

Some of the people have started asking me to cover their favorite songs. Some have sent me a list of those songs on fb and whatstapp.

Some friends made fun out of the video ” bhai video mein itna head bang kyun kr rha tha, Maata aa gyi thi kya ”

Laughs
